How to Update Software on Nintendo Switch 2

Complete these steps

Follow these steps to automatically or manually download and install the latest version of software on Nintendo Switch 2.

Note:

If a software update is available when the Nintendo Switch 2 console is connected online, you will be prompted to download it upon starting the game or application.

  1. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.

  2. Navigate to the System section, then toggle on the Software Auto-Updates option. Updates to installed software will be downloaded automatically while the Nintendo Switch 2 console is connected to the Internet.

  1. Check that the Nintendo Switch 2 console is connected to the Internet.

  2. From the HOME Menu, select the icon for the software you wish to update without starting the game or application.

  3. Press the + Button or - Button on your controller.

  4. Select Software Update followed by Over the Internet.
