Follow the path below based on what you want to do.
Pair a new Bluetooth audio device
Important
Only one Bluetooth audio device can be paired at a time, but up to 10 devices can be saved on a Nintendo Switch console.
Bluetooth microphones cannot be used.
Make sure that no more than two wireless controllers are currently connected to your console.
A pair of Joy-Con counts as two wireless controllers.
If a controller needs to be disconnected, hold the SYNC Button on the controller for at least one second.
Turn on your Bluetooth audio device and set it to a searchable state or pairing mode.
Follow the instructions for your specific Bluetooth audio device on how to enable it to be paired.
Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
Select Bluetooth Audio.
Select Pair Device. The console will search for any available Bluetooth audio devices in range.
Searching for pairable devices can take several seconds.
If 10 devices have already been paired and saved to the console, you will need to remove at least one saved device before you can pair a new one.
Select your Bluetooth audio device’s name.
Once connected, any audio that is played will be output through your Bluetooth device. Be sure to adjust the console volume to a comfortable level.
If desired, you can also lower the maximum headphone volume.
Reconnect a saved device
Turn on your Bluetooth audio device and ensure it is not already connected to another device.
Your audio device may automatically reconnect to your console when it is turned on and in range. In this case, no further steps are needed; audio will be output through your Bluetooth device.
Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
Select Bluetooth Audio.
Select your device’s name from the list of saved devices.
Select Connect Device. Once connected, any audio that is played will be output through your Bluetooth device. Be sure to adjust the console volume to a comfortable level.
You can also lower the maximum headphone volume.
If your device does not connect, try removing the saved device and pairing it again as a new device.
Disconnect a paired device
While a Bluetooth audio device is paired, you can disconnect it instantly by turning off the device. You can also manually disconnect it through your Nintendo Switch 2 System Settings using the steps below.
Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
Select Bluetooth Audio.
Select your device’s name from the list of saved devices.
Select Disconnect. Once disconnected, any audio that is played will be output through the console speakers or TV audio, if playing in TV mode.
Remove a saved device
Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
Select Bluetooth Audio.
Select your device’s name from the list of saved devices.
Select Remove Device.
Select Unpair to confirm the removal. Once removed, the device’s name will no longer appear in the list of known Bluetooth devices.
To use the Bluetooth device again, pair it as a new device.
