How to Add Funds on Nintendo eShop

In this article, you'll learn how to add funds on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch using a credit card, PayPal or Nintendo eShop Card.

Before you start

A Nintendo Account is required to access Nintendo eShop, and your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console must be connected to the internet.

Complete These Steps:

  1. Select “Nintendo eShop” on the HOME Menu to launch Nintendo eShop.

  2. Select the account you want to use.

How do you want to add funds to your Nintendo Account?

Note: The credit card you use must have been issued in the same country/region as the country/region you want to use Nintendo eShop for. (For example, credit cards issued for Australia will only work in Nintendo eShop for Australia.)

  1. Select the picture of your icon in the upper-right corner to access your Account Information.

  2. Select Add Funds.

  3. Select Credit Card.

  4. Select the amount of money that you want to add.

  5. Enter the credit card number, expiry date, and security code, then select OK.

  6. Select Confirm, then Add Funds. The funds will automatically be applied to your balance.

  1. Select Redeem Code on the left side of the screen.

  2. Enter the 16-character prepaid code, then select OK.

    • Any letters and symbols not used with prepaid codes (i.e. O, I, Z, commas, hyphens, etc.) will be disabled from the on-screen keyboard.

  3. Select Confirm, then Add Funds. The funds will automatically be applied to your balance.

This option is only available to Nintendo Account owners aged 18 years or older.

  1. Select the picture of your icon in the upper-right corner to access your Account Information.

  2. Select Add Funds.

  3. Select PayPal.

  4. Link your PayPal account to your Nintendo Account, if you have not already done so.

  5. Select the amount that you want to add (for example, $10, $20, $50 or $100).

  6. Select Add Funds. The funds will automatically be applied to your balance.
