How to Add a New User Account on Nintendo Switch 2
Steps for creating a new user account on your console and linking a Nintendo Account to it.
Note: If you already have a user account on a different console, you can transfer your existing account and save data instead of creating a new account.
What to do
Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
Scroll down to highlight Users, then select Add User.
Up to 8 user accounts can be created on Nintendo Switch. If the "Add User" option does not appear, there are already 8 user accounts on the console. You will need to delete an existing user before you can add another one.
Select Sign In to a Nintendo Account.
Sign in to your Nintendo Account using one of the available sign-in methods.
If you have forgotten your Nintendo Account sign-in information, you can recover or reset your sign-in information.
You will receive a confirmation message that you have signed in with your Nintendo Account. Click OK.
A message will appear indicating that the user has been added to the console. Select OK to return to the System Settings.
Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
Scroll down to highlight Users, then select Add User.
Up to 8 user accounts can be created on Nintendo Switch. If the "Add User" option does not appear, there are already 8 user accounts on the console. You will need to delete an existing user before you can add another one.
Select Add Without Signing In.
Select the icon you would like to have associated to your account.
Tap Create an Icon for additional characters/backgrounds to choose from.
If you would like to add a Mii instead of a picture, click Mii to create one.
Your user icon can be changed at any time once your account is created.
Enter a nickname, then select OK.
Your nickname can be seen by other players, so don't include any personal information.
Your nickname can be changed at any time once your account is created.
Select OK again to confirm.
At this point, the new user is created. If you want to use your console's online features, you will need to link a Nintendo Account.
